Happy New Year!

January 2, 2017

I would like to start by wishing you A Happy New Year!! 2016 has been an absolutely amazing year for me personally and for Limelight and I can only hope that Limelight can continue to improve and grow throughout 2017.

The year has already started well as we will be having the arrival of a new Princess - The Sleeping Princess. The wig arrived last week and it is simply stunning. You could honestly mistake it for real hair, it brushes beautifully and is extremely smooth and silky. From the wig commissioner, I also got the handmade tiara and necklace (also in picture).

The dress will be arriving anytime from now - it has come from America so there is a possibility it may get held up in customs etc. The dress is beautiful -  I am beyond excited for it to arrive.

So plans for 2016 oops 2017 - I need to get used to typing that! I definitely want to put on a Princess & Superhero ball, I toyed with the idea last year but I wasn't brave enough to take the plunge and go for it. I'm not sure if I should admit that but hey ho! It's definitely in my plans for 2017, I want the ball to include afternoon tea, live performances, a photographer, party games etc! I want it to be a real special treat for the children where they can get dressed up in their beautiful dresses and feel like royalty.

I'd also like to do another charity event, last year we put on our 'Princess & Superhero Spectacular' and raised a whopping £1300 for Macmillan Cancer Support - this is an achievement I am really proud of. However, this year I'd like to raise the money for the J2 ward at Addenbrookes which is much more personal. Nine months ago one of our family friends, only aged 19, was rushed into hospital had to be put into a medically induced coma. The J2 unit and Neuro Critical Care Unit were amazing, along with the other units he was in and out of. Thankfully he managed to pull through and prove everyone wrong gaining the nickname of the 'miracle man'. Months after this trauma it was said that he was the second known person in the world to have his condition, we always knew he was unique ;) But for this story it has been a happy ending which we couldn't be more thankful for.

Other than the two events, I don't have any real plans, I will just see where the Limelight journey continues.. Hopefully, 2017 will be even bigger and better than 2016...

Best wishes,

Amy xx
